Recruitment Best Practice Guidelines
Trilby Misso Lawyers follow a ‘Best Practice’ methodology for recruitment and selection, with an organisationally focused, valid, legally defensible, timely and cost effective recruitment policy. In brief, this means:
- The Firm is committed to recruitment that is focused on both competencies required for a specific role as well as those required within the department and/or business unit;
- All recruitment practices are tailored specifically to TML as an organisation, keeping in mind how dynamic the Firm is and the types of individuals that will succeed;
- The Firm will not mislead applicants with false information, given either in the advertising of a vacancy or during the course of an interview;
- Decisions on candidates are made with no bearing on sex, marital status, age, nationality, sexuality, religion and the like, and if requested, TML will be able to provide sound objective feedback for each unsuccessful candidate; and
- Recruitment for all roles will be done in the most cost effective way, as well as meeting the service statement of recruiting within a timely manner;
- TML protects and respects the privacy of personal information of all applications. Applicants should be confident that any personal information you supply to us for the purpose of a job application will not be passed onto third parties or misused for reasons outside of recruitment.
- Background checks may be performed using the personal information you supply to us via your online application, telephone calls, emails and/or face-to-face interviews. Further personal information may be gathered from the background checks however this information will not be gathered without your prior consent or knowledge. Background checking activities may include contacting your previous employers, police checks, academic transcripts and/or certifications and social media websites.
The Firm keeps all applications on file for a period of 3 months. If an application has been found to be unsuitable for a particular position, and a similar position becomes available in the 3 month period, applicants may be contacted for further discussion.
